**Rasoolpur Becomes Pakistan’s First Digital Model Village**

Chak No189-RB Rasoolpur Gaidari in Faisalabad has been officially designated as Pakistan’s first Digital Model Village. This initiative is part of the Cashless Economy program launched by the Prime Minister and the State Bank of Pakistan, aiming to transition 50 percent of financial transactions to digital platforms. The village was formally inaugurated as a “Digitally Enabled Model Village” by Madam Fauzia Aslam, Chief Manager of the State Bank of Pakistan.

The project focuses on promoting digital payment methods and increasing financial inclusion within the community. It serves as a pilot to encourage other rural areas to adopt digital financial services and reduce reliance on cash transactions.

**Why this matters**
This development supports Pakistan’s broader goal of enhancing digital financial infrastructure and fostering a cashless economy. By introducing digital payment systems in rural areas, the initiative aims to improve transparency, convenience, and economic participation among residents, potentially driving growth and modernization in underserved regions.
