IKEA, in collaboration with its logistics partner LC3 Trasporti, is set to expand its use of electric trucks for freight transport in Italy. The initiative focuses on reducing CO2 emissions by gradually introducing a fleet of more than ten eActros 600 electric trucks. Currently, two of these vehicles are already active in the country.
The partners plan to have the full fleet operational by the third quarter of 2026, supporting IKEA’s broader sustainability goals and efforts to minimize the environmental impact of its supply chain.
**Why this matters**
This move highlights a growing trend toward electrification in freight transport, aiming to lower greenhouse gas emissions from road logistics. The deployment of electric trucks like the eActros 600 can contribute to cleaner air and reduced carbon footprints in urban and regional transport networks.
