Apple has released a new Black Unity Apple Watch band called the Unity Connection Braided Solo Loop. The band features the colors of the Pan-African flag—red, green, and black—in a braided design made from recycled polyester yarn and silicone threads. It is soft, textured, and resistant to sweat and water. This special edition band is available in 42mm and 46mm case sizes and comes in a range of sizes from zero to 12. Customers can order it now, with availability in Apple Stores starting later this week.
The Unity Connection Braided Solo Loop celebrates Black History Month and highlights the theme of connection. Apple supports this message by providing grants to organizations that promote creativity and community engagement in under-resourced areas worldwide. Some of these groups include Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Urban Arts in New York, Youth Music in London, and others. The band was designed by Black creatives and allies at Apple and joins two other Black Unity bands already available: Unity Bloom and Unity Rhythm.
